How Shipping Methods are Selected

When Shipping Methods are set up correctly, ShippingTree’s software will automatically select the shipping method to match the shipping method selected by your customers on each individual order. Please use this guide if you need help setting up shipping methods.

Please note the exceptions to the automatic selection of shipping methods, including when:

  • The requested shipping method is unavailable for that specific package size or destination
  • The Shipping Method mapping between your store’s shopping cart and ShippingTree does not match exactly
  • You have not set up a Shipping Method in ShippingTree to match the Shipping Method in your store (see below for “ShippingTree Bulk Rate”)

ShippingTree Bulk Rate

This is the default shipping method on your account if no specific Shipping Methods are mapped or if that method is unavailable for an individual order. When an order comes in with an unrecognizable or incorrect method selected, this option will be used.

ShippingTree’s software will search through all the rates provided by our carrier partners and automatically select the least expensive method, which usually means an economy service.
