Monthly Forecast Submission Guidelines
To ensure efficient warehouse operations and accurate labor planning, we require all clients to submit their monthly forecast by no later than the 15th of each month for the following month. For example, April's forecast must be submitted by EOD March 15th. A forecast template is provided for your convenience during onboarding, which includes the following tabs:
- Inbound Forecast
This section helps us plan for incoming shipments to the warehouse.
- Number of Containers: Expected containers arriving each week (leave blank if none).
- Number of Cartons: Total cartons on each container or total cartons arriving each week (if no containers).
- Number of Pallets: Total pallets arriving each week (leave blank if not expecting pallets).
- ETA to Port: Estimated arrival date of goods at the port before reaching the facility.
- Number of New SKUs: Total new SKUs expected each week (leave blank if none).
- PO#/ASN#: Enter PO numbers if available; otherwise, leave blank or enter the total number of PO's expected.
- Returns Forecast
This section helps us manage the expected volume of returns.
- % of Returns Expected: Percentage of outbound shipments expected to be returned.
- Number of Returns: Total returns anticipated each week.
- UPR (Units Per Return): Estimated units per return.
If you do not accept returns, you may leave this section blank.
- E-Commerce (DTC) Outbound Forecast
This section helps us prepare for direct-to-consumer (DTC) shipments.
- Number of Orders: Number of new orders expected for fulfillment.
- Unit Forecast: Total units expected on the outbound DTC orders each day.
- UPT (Units Per Transaction): Estimated units per transaction.
- Marketing: Promotions, sales, or campaigns that may impact order volume.
- Notes: Additional information that may help with labor planning or marketing-related order spikes.
- Wholesale Outbound Forecast
This section is for wholesale order fulfillment.
- Number of Orders: Number of new wholesale orders expected.
- Unit Forecast: Total units expected on outbound wholesale orders each day.
- UPT (Units Per Transaction): Estimated units per transaction.
- Marketing: Any promotional events or sales affecting wholesale orders.
- Notes: Additional details that may impact warehouse operations.
- Kitting Forecast
This section is for any special kitting or assembly projects.
- Number of Orders: Number of new kitting projects expected.
- Unit Forecast: Total units expected on outbound kitting orders.
- UPT (Units Per Transaction): Estimated units per transaction.
- Marketing: Promotions or sales related to kitting projects.
- Notes: Additional details to help with labor planning or marketing-related order spikes.
Submission Process
Please ensure your forecast is submitted using the provided template and emailed to Support@ShippingTree.co by the 15th of each month. This data is critical for accurate resource planning, ensuring timely order fulfillment, and maintaining smooth operations.
